Freelance WordPress/WooCommerce Developer
Collaborate with JCD's Creative Director to provide web development and design services to our clients. In addition, you'll build, maintain, and edit WordPress/WooCommerce websites, including optimizing performance and assisting clients with eCommerce solutions.
Assigned tasks outlined but are not limited to:
- Assist with customer website projects (may include but not limited to setting up development environments, installing and/or updating WordPress files, themes, and plugins, and making edits to content or images)
- Resize, optimize, and add alternate text to images for websites as needed
- Enter content for eCommerce products and services, which may include research for product details
- Create Elementor Header and Footer Templates
- Create Elementor Templates for products and other pages (some templates may include the use of Advanced Custom Fields)
- Create and configure Elementor Forms (contact forms, lead generation forms, etc.)
- Install and configure payment gateways for eCommerce solutions
- Install and configure shipping integrations for eCommerce solutions
- Configure sales tax integrations into eCommerce solutions
- Optimize the site to be viewed on multiple devices (widescreen, desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile)
- Troubleshoot issues that arise on websites as needed
- Run website backups and updates on WordPress sites as needed
- Create and edit site documentation as needed
- Tracking time spent working on projects and tasks with regular reports to JCD's Creative Director
Experience and Skills Needed
Required:
- Experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, WordPress, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop) or other photo rendering software
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on work experience with WordPress and Elementor Page Builder
- A minimum of 3 years of application and troubleshooting using WooCommerce
- A working knowledge of building templates in Elementor for various website elements (theme elements, posts, archives, products, etc.)
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Preferred but not required:
- Degree in Web Development/Design, Graphic Design, Programming, Marketing, Information Technology, Communications or Business Administration
- Knowledge of custom post types and Advanced Custom Fields
- To ensure success as a freelance contractor, you should possess excellent project management, time management, and communication skills.
You will be required to proficiently complete assignments to meet deadlines, specifications, and use best practices. You will keep a record of your hours worked and submit those hours to us for timely payment. This is a contract position with frequent and varied assignments.
